We are finishing up our workamping assignment here at Jellystone Park in Natural Bridge, VA and preparing to head out for a brief road trip on our way to Amazon in Kentucky. It's always bittersweet to finish a job; sad to leave friends, new and old, but excited to get on to the next adventure. We're stopping off at two favorite places: Asheville and Nashville! Asheville because this city has such a cool vibe and also to pick up some of the best coffee on the planet (Bean Werks Roasters) and Nashville because, well, it's NASHVILLE!!
Then on to our next gig at the Amazon.com fulfillment facility in Kentucky! Ah, we missed you so last year! Definitely the most physical job I have ever done, but also the best fitness program you can imagine! If I can survive the first few weeks, 10-hour shifts of lifting, pulling, pushing and walking almost certainly guarantee Michelle Obama arms by the end of the season!
Being on the road, or more accurately not on the road, can be hazardous. Coming off two years at Jellystone (and too much ice cream and snack bar food!!) I am anxious to lose the 30lbs I have gained since leaving Amazon in 2011!! So bring it on, Amazon! I am ready to rock n roll!!!
